Labur Cultural – Artistic Association "Proleter" is the oldest working association established 1905 in the time the Austria – Hungarian monarchy ruled. It was established and it worked many years under the patronage of the Syndicate of BiH. The witness and the participant of many politic and social happenings in Yugoslavia standing on the side of the workers fighting for their human, social and working rights. It started with the choir sections, and than it spread its activities to folklore ensemble, tin music, drama sections, music section, school of ballet, modern dance and others.

Until the aggression 1992 – 1995, one of the most affirmative associations, in the country as well as in many other countries and cities in Europe. The, by war, destroyed rooms slowed down the planed rise of this renowned association, but thanks to the enthusiasm of the management and the members of the sections, «Proleter» is again on the domestic and European scene of cultural – artistic creations. The association is the bearer of the highest recognitions for Sarajevo and for the country.
