UG. cultural-artistic society "Saraj" from Sarajevo has rizen in the period of war 1993, with the goal to get over the situation in our town and country and intention to withstand the aggression against our country with songs, dances, music and other types of cultural – artistic creations, willingly gathering the youth and organising rehearsals to show ourselves and others that we know how to cheer up and simply abide as a nation with  rich culture and tradition. CAA «Saraj» has ca. 60 members of the association, which is made of ensemble A, ensemble B, music and choir section, singers and the management. CAA «Saraj» had numerous performances. We performed in the Army of RBiH,  in the hospitals, schools, factories, centers for refugees, in the republic rehabilitation centre and in the war hospital Fojnica, on the opening of the 9. International festival in Sarajevo «Sarajevska zima» 1997. and at the closing of  the same, and in the programs of radios and TVs. Inspite the hard war situation, the association, thanks to the great number of members and the attendance on rehearsals, made it having a remarkable number of concerts all across BiH what opened our way and got us the conditions to take part in international festivals of folklore and to show ourselves with numerous tours and performances in other European countries and cities. The first of these performances was on the 35. international festival of folklore «Zlatni Karađoz» in Bursa (07.-12. July) 1996, where we as the only BiH representive and in competiton of 12 countiries won the high fifth place. After that, in March 1997, association was invited to a 15 days long tour around Sweden, as a guest of the Swedish association «Aleta Rosea» where it had concerts in many cities, which are Stockholm, Norcheping, Skultuna, Vesteos and others. In June 1997, CAA «Saraj» goes to the festival of folklore to Turkey in Kartal, where it won the third place. In the period between the 06th and 16th March 1998 CAA «Saraj» was invited by the Danish - Bosnian association «Behar» and organizes a 10 days long tour to the towns: Copenhagen, Odessa.
